Google Movie Search

Today while surfing my favorite blogs, I came upon a superb post about Google. They have come up with another innovation - Google Movie search.

It’s all about searching your favorite movies by content. I’ll give a few example to explain it.
Try searching the following in Google for a demo:

Isn’t that a brilliant idea! I feel it is.

If Google keeps innovating at this pace, I wonder if we’ll see the word “innovate” being replaced by “google”. Well, we all know about “googling”, Don’t we?

Mozilla Firefox is 25 Million strong!!

Great news for this great browser!

Frankly speaking it's the only browser I ever liked on Linux. I hate Mozilla and Opera because they are sluggish and Konqueror for it' s buggy rendering.

I always wanted an IE like browser for Linux and now I want MS to replace IE with Firefox in Longhorn (I know I am daydreaming :) )

The best thing about Firefox (apart from simplicity) is that its amazingly customizable. You can make it look/behave exactly like you want.
I don't use any skins but I use an amazing extension. It's called BugMeNot. It's one of the best utilities I've seen on internet and I am sure everyone online needs it some or the other time. Try it and you'll agree.

If you don't use Firefox yet, Download Now.
If you haven't customized your Firefox, Start Now.

Maybe, I was never made for it.

I am confused. Actually, I was always confused but I am even more confused now. I guess you'll get a feeling of the state of my mind while reading this.

A day before yesterday i.e. on Sunday, I took the GATE exam. As I've written before, it didn't go too well but I still had some hope.
Yesterday, I got a short-listed for GD/PI for MBA in NITIE, Mumbai. Good enough but as I wrote before I am not interested.
Today, I calculated my marks in GATE exam using solutions from The Hindu. I got less than half marks than my previous attempt. I am doomed.

This is the first time in my life that I am thinking of doing MBA. And I have a good reason for this.

If I can't score well enough in an entrance exam based on basic Computer Science, how in the hell will I cope up with the course at IIT? Maybe it's not the right career path for me. Maybe I am not fit to be a Computer Science geek. Maybe I was never good enough to write computer vision algorithms or develop game engines.

On the contrary and in support of my thought, I performed quite well in MBA entrance exams. Despite the fact that I never even thought of preparing for MBA. I took CAT with ZER0 preparation and scored better than almost all my 230 batchmates, including atleast 20 serious MBA aspirants.

If similar things continue to happen in the coming month, I will probably do MBA, now or after 2-3 years of work-ex at Infosys.

And I'll quit Computer Science forever.
Maybe, I was never made for it.

Why am I like this?

What am I like?
I am arguably the laziest and most careless guy in this world.

Today was my GATE exam and I messed it up :(
Actually the messing up started 10 days ago when I created the schedule for preparation. Of course, I was never going to follow it. I completed my syllabi, that too from short notes, today morning 8’oclock. The exam started at 9:30.

Today I learnt a lesson – “Hardwork IS Important.”
Now let’s see how long I take to forget it ;)

To be very frank, I still have a little hope that I’ll get a better GATE score than last year.
Here’s my wish, loud and clear, “I wish I get admission into IIT Bombay for M.Tech Computer Science.”

GATE - 2005, Preparation starts..

Come February 13 and I'll face the most important exam of my life - GATE - 2005. Well, to be very frank, JEE was more important but it's over for me :) But to make myself happy, I can just say that it's better to pursue M.Tech Computer Science from IIT than B.Tech Civil or Chemical or any non CS branch ;)

Now coming to the real point. I started my preparation yesterday (too late, i know). Well, I have designed a schedule to finish the syllabus in 10 days. Now let's hope, I stick to the schedule.

Yesterday's plan was to complete Discrete Mathematics. But, being the lazy, careless guy I am, I managed to finish only half of what I planned :( So now I have 1.5 times the scheduled work for today. Let's see how I manage it.

Signing off, coz I've loads of work to do. I hope I manage to do better today.
